Message I have been very happy with my stock-sized brakes (rotor/pad/fluid upgrade) thus far. I had the opportunity to go to the drags just after refreshing the fluid and let me tell you, they were FINE. This was at a strip that allowed back to back runs (literally) and I was able to stop hard and hit the first turnout every time. 110mph to 15mph stops, five in a row. I was pleasantly surprised.

In fact, it really does make sense given that if you look back into the old literature on the 300ZX, they gave it SUPERIOR braking marks everywhere you looked. At first I thought it was just in relation to cars of the time but looking further into it, it is clear the car performed and performed well. Nearly every group that was given a car gave it excellent scores when it came to braking. Suffice to say, those cars were likely put in tip-top shape (surely including fresh fluid) before going to the test drivers.

This isn't to say every brake upgrade is a waste...I just think people don't realize what CAN be done with a near-stock setup.
